Property Description
"Gardener's Cottage" is a sweet restored cottage that was once the residence of the gardener to a large Bar Harbor waterfront estate. Built for Edward Coles, son of the first governor of Illinois, in the late 1800s, it is a relic from the bygone cottage era. Lovely open first floor layout with well designed kitchen, living room, laundry room, full bath and the warmth of a propane stove. Second floor with primary bedroom with ensuite bath and other comfortable sized bedroom. An acre with fully fenced large back yard. Conveniently located just a 1/3 mile from the downtown district, it's just minutes into town. Close proximity to the wonderful Compass Harbor trails with access to the shoreline. Fantastic location to access Acadia National Park loop road, carriage and hiking trails. Find your spot on Mount Desert Island.
