Set on the Atlantic Ocean, just north of the Piscataqua River, is the historic town of Kittery, Maine. Populated by about 9500 residents, it is the home of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Fort Foster and Fort McClary. Fort McClary was manned during five wars, starting during the American Revolution and is a must see for visitors. Of course, all want to visit the Kittery Outlet shops to “shop till they drop”. There are a number of wonderful hotels, inns and gourmet restaurants to pick from. Kittery offers beaches, galleries & museums. There is something for everyone. Sports and recreation for all ages. York Hospital’s new building will be home to a local medical staff.
Kittery is part of the Kittery School District.
